Board exams
Class 12 (HS)
Assam Higher Secondary board examination
Guide checked: 29 October 2026
Class 12 is called the Higher Secondary (HS) Final Examination
The exam is conducted by ASSEB Division-II, formerly AHSEC. It covers Arts, Science, Commerce, and approved skill subjects. The subjects and exam rules depend on your stream and subject choices.
For the 2027 exam, check the official board portal for the latest form-fill-up notice, timetable, and instructions. The subject-wise routine was not available on the official public pages we checked on 29 October 2026.
Streams and syllabus
Choose the official syllabus for your stream and each subject: Arts, Science, Commerce, or skill subjects. Some subjects include practical or project work. Check the current syllabus and academic regulations instead of relying on an older guide.
- Match the subject name and code to your registration record.
- Check theory and practical/project marks for each subject.
- Ask your school about practical dates, project work, and internal assessment.

Exam pattern and preparation
There is no single paper pattern for every HS subject. Total marks, theory duration, and practical or project marks can differ by subject. Use the current syllabus and regulations for your subject as the final guide.
- Make a list of your registered subjects and paper codes.
- Download the current syllabus for each subject.
- Note the theory, practical, and project requirements.
- Practise timed answers and ask your teacher to review them.
- Check official notices for changes, form dates, and exam instructions.

Form, routine, and results
Students usually complete exam registration and form fill-up through their school. Follow the dates and steps in the current official notice. Your school will tell you how to correct details, pay any required fee, and collect your admit card.
The board portal is the official place to check notices, exam updates, and result links. Keep your roll number and other details private and use only the official result page linked by the board.
